Fantastic, antique French clockwork, mechanical toy featuring a French bisque head, child doll pulling her wooden cart with metal spoke wheels, measuring 12" high by 13" long and 6" wide. The doll walks forward pulling the wagon when the large metal key (incised: 3) is wound. Her head is incised: Limoges/France and she has pierced ears, dark brown glass eyes, open mouth with teeth, thick lashes and excellent coloring, lovely dark brown human hair wig in long ringlets held with antique French silver clip and thick bangs. She has a wood and composition body with metal hands, lovely pale green, antique dress, eyelet slip, shoes and socks. The wagon is lined with antique burgundy fabric and has a buckboard-type seat (teddy bear and other dolls are not included). Doll and cart are in excellent condition with no damages and no repairs (no hairlines or chips, no cracks or breaks and no odors). This rare item comes from a smoke free home and has no odors or fading. What a FABULOUS, French mechanical doll/toy! We have been advised by more than one collector that this antique toy may have been made by Roullet & Decamps. Please note: nearly all of our items are antique or vintage (usually with some signs of wear due to usage and previous storage).
