The Product: A new pair polished
fender struts for American Ironhorse Tejas and LSC models which can also be
adapted for use on custom choppers.
Research:
We received these through the American Ironhorse buyout and all of the
information we have on them is listed here. These fender struts look identical
to others we found online, eBay listing #161089440019 and #221189641004, which
state these will fit the American Ironhorse Tejas and LSC models. Unfortunately
when AIH went out of business the websites with the online catalogs were
removed therefore we are unable to verify this. Since we are unable to verify
which specific AIH models these will fit and we believe you can adapt them for
use on custom choppers we have measured them to help you determine if they will
fit your motorcycle. Using the second picture as a reference the fender strut
on the bottom of the picture measured as follows: 15-1/4" across at the
longest point and 3/4" thick. The distance from the center of the mounting
hole on the left side of the picture to the center of the adjacent mounting
hole is about 5-1/2". From the center of the second mounting hole to the
center of the third mounting hole measured about 3-1/4". Measuring from
the center of the third to the center of the fourth mounting hole measured
about 2-3/8". Using the third picture as a reference, the distance from
the center of one of the mounting holes on the end to the center of the
adjacent mounting hole measured about 1-3/8". The section where these
struts “swoop” in towards the center on the pointed end measured about 1-3/8”
and about 1” in the middle between the point and the “swoop”. The other end
with the two mounting holes measured about 2-1/2” wide. Please keep in mind
these measurements were taken with a tape measure and may be slightly
inaccurate. Please note: Three of the mounting holes on the back of these
fender struts do not go all the way through the strut.
Layout of Pictures: The first and second pictures show both sides of the fender
struts. In the third picture you can see the end of a strut which has mounting
holes and the fourth picture shows the one mounting hole which goes all the way
through the fender struts. In the fifth picture you can see a close up of some
scratches and scuffs on these fender struts. Please note: We have several of
these available and have pictured some of the worse damage we noticed. You may
not receive the exact pair of fender struts pictured therefore the scratches
and scuffs may be on other sections; however the damage will be similar.
Condition: These fender struts are new but do have some damage to them from
being moved around warehouses for some time. In the fifth picture we have shown
some of the deepest scratches; however we received several sets of these fender
struts therefore you may receive a set which has scratches and scuffs on other
sections. Some of the scratches may buff out with some polish; however we have
not tried therefore we do not know how well these will actually clean up.
