Up for bid is an elaborate pierced and chased Indian silver standing picture frame. The piece is 12 ½ inches tall and 10 1/4 inches wide and weighs 457 grams without the glass or insert. The opening is 6 ½ inches tall by 5 ¼ inches wide, so it is not a standard size, though a 5X7 would fit. The frame is pierced and chased from a flat piece of silver, and features peacocks at the top and elephants at the bottom. It comes with a fitted sheet of glass and a pressboard back. It has a long teardrop shaped hinged prop on the back. The piece has not been monogrammed. It is marked “SILVER” as shown.

Condition on the piece is fairly good. There are just some minor dents and the irregularities of hand craftsmanship. A very attractive silver frame.
