Genuine original new Motorola part and not cheap, nasty imported copies.
A simple repair to a part that often gets damaged when accessories are inserted regularly, particularly taxi data systems such as Autocab.
These are an easy item to fit, it is a 5 minute job as they simply push into place. There is no need to fully dismantle the radio, or remove the radio head. The only tools you will need are a Torx T20 screwdriver and a flat bladed tool to lever with, I use a paint scraper.
1. Insert flat tool under the side of the main case near the mounting holes and lever it over the metal X and lift the lid off. It is possible to remove the lid with your fingers, but a tool makes it easier.
2. Remove 6 x Torx T20 screws holding the metal lid in place and lift lid off, the waterproofing seal is quite tight so you may need to lever the lid up gently.
3. You will now be able to pull the old accessory connector out.
4. Push new connector into place.
5. Screw the metal lid back in place. The screw-holes are marked 1-6 and the screws should be replaced in this order, then go back through and tighten the screws again to make sure they are tight (1.9 NM /17 in lbs).
6 Push the outer case into place.
NOTE IF YOUR OLD ACCESSORY CONNECTOR HAD BENT PINS SHORTED TOGETHER, YOU COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE RADIO WHICH WOULDN'T BE FIXED BY MERELY REPLACING THE CONNECTOR.
