Fastheads.com offers complete dirt bike head services for newer motocross 4 valve heads.  In order to maintain quality control we only offer complete assembled and tested rebuilds. In other words we do not just cut seats and send back a bare head. These high RPM motors have to seal properly with very close attention to tolerances or they won't start and can easily self destruct. This packaged service includes removing the valves, soda blast cleaning, total inspection, seats cut with a multi angle seat profile and then professionally assembled and vacuum tested.  Spring and valve stem heights are check and corrected as needed.  We only cut seats to new valves.  Modern valves are chemically surface hardened or have and anti wear type plating  and should not be ground. You can supply your valve train parts or we can supply.  Please see our complete discounted rebuild packages with valve train options included. All machining is performed on our race developed Rottler SG7 seat and guide machine with pilots and tooling designed for the motocross type heads.  This is one of the only machines that consistently cuts seats to concentric tolerances in tenths of a thousandths.  Price is for labor only. We can adjust the valve lash on models with valve shims for $35. Send in cams, lifter, cam caps, bolts, bearing retainers, old shims for exchange.  

Kick start, single cylinder, high rpm motocross race motors need perfect guide to seat and valve to seat concentricity in order to start easy and maintain a quick throttle response.  This is not just your typical automotive machine shop valve job.  Old school methods of head machining will not work on these new high RPM heads.

Things you should know.  Old School hand grinding and Neway hand cutting processes do not work on these new MX style heads due to the small diameter stems and the large distance to the seat from the guide.  Your valve seats wear almost as fast as the valves on these high-rev engines.   Worn seats are rounded convex and when the flat surface of a new valve face creates a very small contact patch creating less heat transfer and increased wear along with low compression, low HP, backfiring, tuning and hard starting situations.   Most mechanics just install new valves and call it good because they don't have the high dollar machining equipment needed on these new style heads.     If you want an endurance or the Ultimate race head we can build it.   Dealers and race teams are welcome.  We use the new Rottler SG7 seat and guide machine specially designed for accuracy and tooled for the power sports industry.
