By the Lakes
is the title of the 2017 Royal Copenhagen Christmas Plate, featuring a man with a young girl feeding swans at the edge of a lake. “The Lakes” are a series of three rectangular lakes that curve around the western margin of Copenhagen, forming one of the most distinctive features of the city. The paths around them are popular with strollers, bikers and runners.
The design was created by Sven Vestergaard. It is molded into the porcelain and hand painted in traditional Copenhagen blue under the glaze. Diameter approximately 7.2 inches (18 cm), mint condition, with original box and Certificate of Authenticity. Pierced foot for hanging wire. Appropriately marked on the back, including the three wavy line trademark of Royal Copenhagen.
