Here is a new one; the rear element is cracked. There is no sign of impact so I do not know how it happened. Does it make a difference? I do not have a digital camera that will accept this lens so I had to hold it against my D3, not an ideal way of taking a photo, and as far as I can tell it does not affect image quality. Be aware that this will not fit any modern camera without an adapter.
