which re-tells in Middle English the tragic story

of the lovers Troilus and Criseyde set against a backdrop of war in the Siege of Troy.

 

Chaucer (1343 -1400) English author, poet, diplomat, philosopher, bureaucrat, courtier and diplomat -

Father of English Literature and Vernacular English language.

Considered Chaucer's best work written in the 1380's,
