This is a charming Renaissance silver gilt clothing hook, dating to the 16th century AD. The central panel depicts a heart with a lovers knot, framed. The hook is intact along with the original securing bar, as such it is a perfect example of a securing hook from the period of the Tudors. Such a piece of jewellery was used to secure richly embroidered fabrics, on the most expensive court fashions of the time.
