This Sony receiver works good with 3 D cell batteries. The FM/AM radio is strong and the dials and the meter work. I am unable to pick up the SW  possibly because it is missing the antenna. It has the carrying strap but is also missing the power cord and the battery cover. It does have some paint on it in places.
