DescriptionThis listing is for a very nice and very scarce Bradley & Hubbard oil lamp. It features the Phoenix Bird on both the base and the hand-painted shade. Signed “B&H” on the oil fill cap and “Pat. Applied For” on the wick adjusting knob. The cast base with the 2 phoenix birds has several places where the gold paint is worn off, and the brass on the rest of the lamp is tarnished. I did not attempt to polish it as I did not want to disturb the patina, but it would probably polish up nicely if someone wanted to. There are no cracks, chips, breaks or repairs that I have noticed. The shade and chimney are both in excellent condition. This is a center draft oil lamp - the kind that takes a cylindrical wick. It did not have a wick when I first acquired it, but I have since purchased one and will include it with the lamp, along with instructions on how to install it. I have packed each part of this lamp in it’s own box and then packed everything in a larger box, so the shipping weight will be quite heavy, but I didn’t want to take a chance that anything could get broke as the base and shade on this lamp would be nearly impossible to replace. The measurements of the lamp are as follows:
