Neil Armstrong Signed Limited Edition Paul Calle Print
#68/1000
29" TALL x 19" WIDTH

_________

SIGNED BY NEIL ARMSTRONG AND PAUL CALLE (TWICE) AT THE NATIONAL AIR & SPACE MUSEUM IN WASHINGTON D.C., DECEMBER 23, 1976. PAUL CALLE, ON THE MORNING OF THE APOLLO 11 LAUNCH, SKETCHED THE IMAGE IN THIS PRINT AS THE CREW SUITED UP FOR THE LAUNCH TO THE LUNAR SURFACE.

PRINT IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. CONDITION ISSUES INCLUDE :
  • "BROWN" TONING / FOXING AS SHOWN IN AREAS SURROUNDING IMAGE;
  • WATER STAIN ALONG VERY BOTTOM EDGE ... 1-2" {WHEN FRAMING THE MATTING WILL EASILY COVER THIS};
  • SOME VERY LIGHT BUMPS, CREASING ALONG EDGES;
  • SOME "WAVINESS" TOWARD BOTTOM {SEE CONSERVATION NOTES BELOW}
The photos do not do justice to the piece. When purchased it was framed cheaply but appeared wonderfully despite the small brown patches; and for the most part the waviness at the bottom was not obvious. I have no problem saying that when the piece is matted and framed to your specifications it will be an amazing historical piece that will increase in value.

BELOW READS THE INVOICE OF CONSERVATION PERFORMED ON THE PIECE:

The work was surface cleaned on front and back to reduce surface grime using grated white vinyl eraser (Staedtler Mars Plastic, Bookmakers), taking care to protect the handwritten graphite annotations on the recto.

The three crumbled corners were reinforced using all bast fiber Japanese paper and wheat starch paste (Aytex-P, Talas).

The print was humidified gradually in a humidification chamber to allow the buckled primary support to relax, and then the work was flattened between blotters under moderate weight. A slight planar wobble can still be seen in the upper margin.

The treatment report was written and the work of art was wrapped for hand pick up by the client

I AM ONE OF THE FEW ON EBAY WHO IS NOT A GAR(B)AGE SALE. AS A BUYER MYSELF I'VE LEARNED THAT YOU CAN SOMETIMES FIND A GOOD DEAL ON EBAY AT A DECENT PRICE. HOWEVER, 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 A SELLER'S DESCRIPTION / PHOTOS DO NOT MATCH THE ITEM WHEN I OPEN THE PACKAGE. YOU DO NOT WANT ME AS A BUYER IF THIS IS THE CASE; BUT YOU DO WANT ME AS A SELLER BECAUSE MY STANDARDS ARE VERY HIGH. IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT TAKE A LOOK AT MY FEEDBACK FOR SALES.

RAREHOBBS HAS 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK

KNOW WHAT THE EBAY BADGES BY A SELLER'S NAME MEAN (I CANNOT STATE THEM PER EBAY RULES EVEN THOUGH I'VE EARNED THEM). BUT I CAN SAY THAT I AM TOP-EVERYTHING AS A SELLER.
