This auction is for Ryukyu Islands Type I Mail Pouch Seal Paper in Spring Green on rice paper.  The seals became effective late 1953 and were used to seal pouches of mail sent from one post office to another.  The seal was considered a "form", made of rice paper, is transparent and delicate.  After the form is validated by the dispatching post office, it is rolled to make a small string and is tied to the drawstrings of the mail pouch.

Please note that even though the item is small, I ship package rate in the US thru ebay so that tracking is uploaded.

Don't know anything about this, I am liquidating a large collection of my father's, who was a 94 year old APS member. I am relying on his notes attached to each item and whatever information I can glean from the internet. Hopefully the pictures will help but if you want better pictures, let me know. Sorry, I can't describe these better, have not come across a catalog yet in all of my father's rooms of stamps. He had been a collector and dealer of Ryukyus, Marshall Islands, Palau, US and many others for 70+ years.

If I have mistakenly described the item and after you have purchased you discover the discrepancy, please return the stamp for a full refund.  It is not my intention to mislead.  As I said before, I do not know anything about these and unfortunately I can no longer ask my father.
