In 1970, Piero Guidi and his wife Nadia opened a store-workshop where they first started producing leather goods with metal details and decorations. Still today, every Piero Guidi product is made with the same passion and creativity of those years.
In 1991, the two angels with spread wings became the logo of this company that exports high quality products all over the world and is considered an example of innovation and timeless Italian style.
In 2011, the first retail location in the United States was opened at 430 West Broadway in New York’s Soho district. Currently sold at over 500 multi-brand stores throughout Italy and Europe, this marks Piero Guidi’s first freestanding location in the North American market. The Soho store is the company’s fourth stand-alone store outside of Italy, following openings in China, Japan and Hong Kong.
Piero Guidi is closely tied to the Italian city of Urbino and this is no coincidence. Urbino is the city where Raphael was born and a place where art and marvelous Renaissance architecture play a fundamental role in the local identity. Urbino is of unique beauty, recognized by UNESCO as a «World Heritage» site. Piero Guidi is still a family company and it is here that the heart and soul of its creativity lie. It is in the Urbino fashion house that every day the founder together with his wife, his two sons Giacomo and Gionata, and his close collaborators, work to combine the secrets of traditional craftsmanship with research in design and choice of materials.
Piero Guidi’s women’s and men’s collections include a great selection of bags, clothes, belts, scarves, shoes, purses, and professional and travelling accessories, all of which become pleasant and constant companions in the everyday lives of those who wear them. The company is especially known for its Magic Circus line, which features colorful designs and motifs depicting various circus scenes, as well as for its Lineabold collection, a range of canvas handbags with a metal plaque that can be engraved with the owner’s name.
« Logo -says Piero Guidi- the embracing angels, is a positive symbol. The Angel represents the symbol of love for us; it is the spirit that accompanies those whose actions are aimed at changing the world for the better. We can find this same spirit in the eyes of a child, in the eyes of the desperate, in those who fight against suffering and find strength in human relationships. Those who buy our products, carry a message of hope».
