SHORT PEIGNOIR SET

I am delighted to offer this superb vintage babydoll peignoir set, by highly-respected US makers Gossard Artemis.

 

Consisting of a layered nightgown and stylish matching negligée, the set is made from silky-soft coral-pink nylon and light, floaty, dreamy-sheer chiffon. Both pieces have slinky satin trims.

 

The babydoll nightie is traditionally styled, with a satin collar and front panel that fastens with three covered buttons. There's a floral satin appliqué beneath and the nightie has two layers: silky-smooth nylon next to the skin, with the sheer floaty chiffon layer over the top. It's very full and easy to wear and the 72" hemline has a deep border of slinky satin to match the top.

 

The negligée has nylon on the inside with a chiffon outer layer. Beautifully styled, it has a satin collar with flower appliqués and satin front edges to match the nightdress perfectly. It fastens at the top with five satin-covered buttons and the puffed double layer sleeves are three-quarter length, gathered into neat elasticated cuffs. The robe is fabulous to wear, falling in soft, silky, sensuous drapes with a fine 88" sweep hemline.

 

Size notes: labelled Medium, the set will fit a range of sizes due to the full styling, and drapes really well on a small, medium or larger frame. The nightie is probably best for 34-38" bust though it will fit a bit larger or smaller. The robe is a similar size but can of course be worn open, and it is 37" long - about knee length or just above; the nightie is an inch or so shorter.

 

The peignoir set is 'new' old stock and in excellent condition, with crisp, original labels and good, clear, unfaded colour - remarkable for garments of this age! There are a few very minor picks in the chiffon from storage but otherwise it is completely sound and looks new! It has been freshly laundered for you.

 

So - a very desirable vintage set - someone is going to be extremely happy with this stunning, seductive bedroom attire! Imagine the feel of all that dreamy chiffon - bob a curtsey and you could almost drown in it...!
