Super Rare - Collins 55G-1 Low-Frequency Tuner Reproduction for 51S-1 Receiver

The 55G-1 Low-Frequency Tuner is a manually operated tuner that is an accessory unit for the 51S-1 Receiver.  It improves the sensitivity and input selectivity of the 51S-1 between 200 and 2000 KHz, and greatly reduces cross modulation and spurious responses caused by strong broadcast signals.  Besides the tuner, the 55G-1 cabinet also contains a 4 ohm loudspeaker for the 51S-1.  Power for the 55G-1 is obtained from an internal 9 volt DC battery.

In excellent working condition,   it looks unused, like it just now came out of the box !!  These are super rare and basically unavailable.  Only about 30 were ever made.  It was a project by the Collins Radio Association and Dr. Dave Knepper, W3ST.

Sale includes the 55G-1 Tuner reproduction, the three cables necessary for operation and an original copy of the instruction manual.
