 A French satinwood, kingwood, boxwood and marquetry billiard table with a gilt-metal mounted frieze with concave sides inlaid with panels of birds and lions resting on scrolled acanthus foliage, and divided by ormolu lion mask ball pocket covers, with hinged mouths, on turned baluster supports and bulbous feet with makers name, Pichon, Rue des Marous, Mid 19th century.

Provenance:

Purchased at Christies Edinburgh, Scotland from Lady Helen Tod, daughter of the 7th Duke of Atholl and by family tradition this billiard table was once the property of Emperor Napoleon III of France.
