ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 18K GOLD NATURAL TOURMALINE CAB DIAMOND RING GYPSY SETTING sz 8.5

Offered here is a unusual  ring in 18k gold, size 8.5, from the early to mid Victorian period, 1840-1860's/Civil War era.

. It features a lovely tourmaline cabochon gemstone in a gypsy setting, surrounded by 6 small diamonds. The tourmaline has an open back, where as the diamonds do not. The carat weight of the tourmaline is approx. 60 points, over 1/2 carat, and measures 5.6 mm x 4.6 mm with a high dome. The tourmaline has natural inclusions. Very beautiful!

The diamonds have a combined weight of 18 points, and measure 1.6 mm x 1.4 mm. Diamonds are set in deep the band. They look like they are mine cut, hard to tell exactly the cut. The setting has a great look!

Unmarked as were pieces from this time.

Item is in excellent condition, with some very slight tarnishing that didn't polish when cleaned. It's mostly on the bottom of the band and inside. Remember- gold tarnishes after 100 years! This ring could be 200 years old!

Measures approximately 3/8" wide, and is size 8.5. Excellent condition.

Shipping insurance is included .
