This will repair your key if the key blade (the metal part of the key) is loose or broken.
To prevent any problems with the purchase, please read carefully the following notes!
NOTE 1: Please send the last 8 digits of your VIN so we can cut the blade for you. The last eight digits will start with 6E on the Galant and either 6E or 7E on the Eclipse. Let us know IF you don't want us to cut the key. We also REQUIRE a photo of your broken key (close up and IN FOCUS of the key blade). The photo of the key is proof you have posession of the vehicle. We also use the photo to verify the key code.
If the VIN and Photo ARE NOT SUPPLIED with the order (or close to the time of the order), the repair kit will be supplied UNCUT !
NOTE 2: There is a module inside the black plastic housing that controls the locking and unlocking of the doors & trunk. It ALSO has a transponder that controls the starting of the car! This module must be removed from your broken key housing to put in the new housing. IF THE BROKEN KEY HAS HAD AN ATTEMPED REPAIR USING SUPER GLUE, THIS MODULE MAY BE SUPERGLUED INTO THE OLD HOUSING MAKING THE NEW REPAIR KIT USELESS. Check to make sure the module is removable.
Note 3: If the buttons are missing from your broken key, look at the module. There is a rubber membrane that is inside the module to keep it water resistant. It is almost clear in color. If that membrane has holes in it below where the buttons that covered it, the new buttons WILL NOT WORK. (See picture # 2. There is a hole in the membrane over the button inside the ellipse. The membrane over the panic button and truck release button are good.)The key will work in your car, the car will start, but the door lock and unlock will not work! Sorry to say, they rubber membrane is not available as a separate part.
NOTE 4: This piece is repair kit and WILL NOT start your car.
NOTE 5: ONCE THE KEY IS CUT, IT CANNOT BE UN-CUT, SO THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS ON THIS PART !!!
