Buck Grant fell into combat sports the hard way. After being brutally beaten up as a child in his own yard in front of his very own brothers, he decided to face his fears head on. Over The Top Rope Life Lessons From The Ring, is an autobiographical account of his journey into the combat sports of Muay Thai Kickboxing, Grappling and Mixed Martial Arts. More importantly, it is a story about who he became as a result of that journey. Through 15 stories and life lessons, Buck shares first hand accounts of courage over adversity. Through his own personal story he inspires us to move beyond the limitations that we have put on ourselves and into the space of becoming our highest potentials. There is a fighter within all of us, and when we are willing to fight for what we want, we can become who we are destined to be. Ajarn (or Master) Buck Grant has been a martial artist since 1994. As a scared, insecure bi-racial child, he sought out the martial arts in order to battle his own internal fears and demons. After fighting for over 15 years in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-jitu, Submission Wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts he was able to discover his own inner strength and thrives on helping others find theirs as well. "The day you decide to be a fighter is the day you become one," is the message that he passes on to his students and his overarching goal is to teach self mastery through cultivating the fighter within us all. After retirement from ring sports, he has dedicated his life to teaching and mentoring. He continues to serve the community that essentially raised him through refereeing and coaching at the national and global level. His experience as a former fighter allowed him to produce champions such as Brandon "The Truth" Vera, Shawn Yarborough, Chase "The Weapon" Walden, Dorian Price, Antwain "The Juggernaut" Britt and countless other elite fighters. He continues to coach the next generation of combat athletes, emphasizing character development as an internal part of becoming a true champion. Ajarn Buck's life purpose is to change the world through the development of teachers and leaders. Through his Muay Thai University, he teaches that EVERYONE is a leader, and that by embracing their ability to positively influence other people's lives, everyone can make a difference in this world.
