Middle Eastern Manuscript

Beautiful hand illuminated ancient manuscript!!

Bound in a full leather, gilt stamped binding. Has the Roman numeral XX (20) on front cover, so this is most likely a volume from a collection. Each leave is made from vellum, or similar animal skin. Each page is handwritten and decorated with the ancient techniques of the earliest scribes. I am not sure what the book is about, I assumed it was a passage from the Koran, but I had a client, who reads Arabic look at it recently and he said it was most likely not, but still unsure. **Please feel free to send me a message if you have any information about the subject matter.

Book was bound by hand and an excellent example of Islamic bookbinding. The work is not dated, but based on how it has aged and the materials used, it was likely made during the 1700s. Be sure to see the close up pictures for the condition, as some pages have areas that had stuck together at some point and pulled away some of the paper onto the facing page; nevertheless, this is an amazing example and a one of a kind ancient treasure.
