Franz Halder [1884 1972] was a German general and the chief of the OKH General Staff from 1938 until September of 1942, when he was dismissed after frequent disagreements with Adolf Hitler. He was also suspected of plotting against Hitler's life in 1944, and was interned at Flossenburg until he was captured by the Allies. He began his military career in 1902, and was also a veteran of World War I. During World War II, he kept a diary during his time as chief of the General Staff and it has been a important source for authors and historians who have written on subjects such as Adolf Hitler and the Second World War. Listed for auction is the autograph of a Franz Halder signed on a card. The autograph is signed ''Franz Halder'' in black fountain pen with rank. The card measures 3.00 x 5.00 inches, it has trivial toning/wear otherwise it is in fine condition. The autograph of general Franz Halder in not common to obtain for the military collector, the autograph is authentic and the card is a nice example of this prominent German commander and is ideal for display.
