One of the largest bowls I have seen at 12.5cm (5") in diameter by 8cm (3.2") tall & weighs with the puff 300 grams.

Certainly one of the most exquisite cut glass powder jars you will ever find, not sure if Deco or earlier, beautifully & deeply hand cut throughout, with not a single ding or flea bite to the bowl, it shows no signs of use other than a few minor contact marks to the base of the bowl & the top of the faux Tortoiseshell lid, this belongs in a serious collection.

I think the bowl English, but I have never seen a puff of this quality, it may be French, but would hazard a quess that it may have been produced in China, for I have only ever seen this quality & type of workmanship on vintage Chinese silk items ( which I collect).

Lift the faux Tortoiseshell lid to reveal the puff, it filles the bowl entirely, is beyond beautifull & the loveliest example I have ever seen.  The mass of snow-white Swansdown is not shedding, has been attached to a pale cream heavy woven silk satin which has been gathered into a bone button with an attached finger ring.  Clearly it has never seen the light of day for there is no tell tale wear or fracturing of the silk, & is as good as mint save the very slightest near invisible deepening of the colour towards the button though you need a magnifying glass to see it.

Would make an exceptional addition to a collection
