Walter T. Hinton [1888 1981] was a pioneering aviator, explorer and naval officer who was the pilot of the Curtiss flying boat ''NC-4'' which was the first aircraft to complete a transatlantic flight in 1919. Listed for auction is the autograph of Walter T. Hinton signed on a vintage commemorative Air Mail cover. The cover commemorates Lieutenant Walter Hinton historic 1919 flight and is signed ''Walter Hinton'' in black fountain pen. The cover is dual postmarked Mar, 7, Mar 18, 1931, and is affixed with U.S air mail postage stamps. The cover measures 6.50 x 3.50 inches, it has some trivial toning/edge wear otherwise it is in fine condition. The autograph is authentic and the cover is a nice example of this noted aviation pioneer. We have listed a nice collection of military, aviation and astronaut autographs.
