Please do not pay for your item immediately. I must pack and determine the final weight and size of each and every item . I sell antiques and collectibles all my items are different and I want your shipping to be correct. Insurance will vary from carrier to carrier as well.  I will send an invoice with the exact cost and or call you.. I use my fedex account and greyhound bus service for large items shipped west of the Mississippi.

This auction is for the pictured motor and generator. The unit has been cleaned somewhat, lubricated, brushes and contact discs cleaned. New leather in couplings. The wires leading into the motor need insulation right at the entrance so liquid electrical tape should seal them. The unit runs smoothly and quietly. The light bulb flickers when running sense its starving for more voltage. The unit weighs 75 pounds. I will ship this but boxed or crated it will be over the fedex limit . Greyhound bus takes up to 100 pounds and I use them a lot. I prefer them so find the closest terminal to you. I have one a few towns over I deliver to. When it arrives at its destination they call the recipient. So if this sells it may also need to be crated and sent freight so be prepared to adjust the shipping accordingly and DO NOT PAY FOR IT UNTIL THE COST IS ESTABLISHED.

Around about 1880 first telephone exchange outside Boston with one toll line to Boston and fourteen local subscribers came about powered by the company generator. Since the telephone had been invented only in 1876, we can appreciate how progressive this commercial enterprise must have been.
The Company greatly expanded its telephone work from 1890 to 1915 and achieved success with the useful invention of noiseless generators for central telephone exchanges and other innovations. By World War I, their telephone apparatus was in telephone systems around the world and aboard ships and submarines of the US Navy. In 1912, a special Holtzer-Cabot generator allowed the first radio communication between an airplane and land. Mr. Holtzer, the founder and Chairman of the Board guided the creativity and expertise for these advances.
