SIERRA NEVADA MTNS, CALIFORNIA
FINE CALIFORNIA GOLD in TWO (2) new 12KGF (gold-filled) MINI LOCKETS (coin-edged)

Photos are enlarged representations of offered item.   Ruler, if shown, is 1/4" wide (actual size). A U.S. dime (10 cent piece) measures 17.5 mm in diameter.

Featured here is a precious memento from the California goldfields. This high-purity native gold, 2.5 Grains (Troy), is encased inside a new, 12KGF (gold-filled) MINI, coin-edged locket. You are buying two (2) of these lockets each with 2.5 grains of gold enclosed. Close up examination will show crystalline structure in many of these small pieces of naturally-formed gold. You will also see a minuscule amount of quartz attached to a few pieces of gold. It's a wonderfully rich mix. The lockets measure 17 mm long from the top of the eye to the bottom. If you wished to substitute your own gold, the locket can be taken apart and put back together. They'll hold your placer fines or small gold flakes.

Native crystalline gold + quartz from California weighs a combined 5 grains  - .32 Gram (both lockets together).

A
s operator/sole proprietor at Gold of Eldorado, I actively mined gold for 18+ years. Beginning long ago, in a past life, perhaps, something in the golden mystique of this rare, precious metal attracted me to it. Searching for Au (gold), working with it in a multitude of forms, and marketing it has become a life-way. This passion is what fuels my desire to bring these new creations and exciting discoveries  to your attention. If, like myself, you're a big fan of gold, there's a lot to see here at Gold of Eldorado.

MINING'S NO SURE-FIRE THING
by Eldorado Gene
Of the many mining ventures I have embarked upon, more often than not, placer gold was either absent entirely, difficult to find and mine, or sparse and erratically distributed to the point of being unprofitable. Oftimes, what remained constituted only the small amount overlooked or lost by the old timers.
Each gold-bearing claim has it's own unique history however, and one shouldn't give up before testing a property thoroughly especially if it's been a big producer in the past. You might stumble upon some stretch of creek or river which hasn't been worked or dredged at all. Sedimentary (old channel) formations can be suspended/elevated above the modern-day creek bottom. In many instances, these proved to be the richest of all deposits along a drainage. Claims which once were rich often contain significant redeposits in the main channel of a currently-active creek (the channel where water is actually flowing). There's even a chance you might hit virgin pay-streaks the old timers missed or couldn't reach for one reason or another. Just like today, they had to deal with high water, huge boulders, deep gravels, rough terrain, harsh climate, cranky neighbors, et al. Depending upon how much or how little gold is left, you might not pay for your fuel. From my perspective, even the failures were fun not to mention educational. You always have it in your mind, "maybe this is going to be the one." All gold mining properties promise the chance for adventure and ounces if not pounds of gold. But a word to the wise -  "never count your nuggets before they're dredged."

Claims can be extremely difficult to open up and prospect thoroughly. Understanding full well that many folks are satisfied simply to be able to call a claim their own, I would not have one if 95% of the gravels, for all intents and purposes, could not even be tested for gold content.
Thanks for checking out our store. Rich ground ahead.
