Roman North African Pottery Oil Lamp w/ Floral Petals



Late Roman/Early Byzantine, ca. 6th century CE. A mold-made oil lamp of the late Roman style with a simple floral design in its discus and a laurel design around that. It has a sunken discus, two pour holes on either side of the central design, an unpierced lug handle, and a wide channel running down the nozzle. The color is a deep, almost purply, red.
