Never observe the sun with the naked eye or through a telescope, binoculars,
camera or other optical device. Doing so will cause serious damage your eye
sight and may lead to permanent blindness. Both the eye and artificial
optical devices concentrate the extremely strong ultraviolet light from
the sun onto the retina. This can permanently destroy the retina's
ability to detect light. To safely observe a solar eclipse you must use
solar eclipse glasses like our
UV Brite™ Shades or use indirect methods
such as pin hole projection onto a suitable surface.
You will put your eye sight at risk by only wearing regular sunglasses or shades to directly view the sun.

Total Solar Eclipse - Monday August 21, 2017 USA
On Monday August 21, 2017 there will be a total solar eclipse visible right across America from west coast to east coast. Witnessing a solar eclipse is a truly magnificent and memorable
experience for anyone lucky enough to have the opportunity to observe
this extraordinary event.
This is the first total eclipse of the Sun visible from all 48
contiguous United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) since 1979 - 38
years ago! The last time a total eclipse was visible from coast to coast was June 8, 1918.
