Description"Victorian Copper Lustre Goblet"
This is a lovely Victorian antique copper lustre goblet, decorated with a white band which has pink and green decoration
These goblets were made in various places in the UK and as most are unmarked, it is difficult to attribute them to a particular factory.
It measures 11.5 cm high
It dates from around the early to mid 1800s
Condition : It is in nice display condition with just some minor lustre wear.
Further information : In Victorian times, rooms were lit by candles or oil lamps and warmed by an open fire. These copper lustre pieces shone and reflected the light and were very popular.
The copper lustre effect was achieved by applying a metallic oxide glaze which gives the effect of iridescence.
