About the F-14: The F-14 Tomcat was a twin-seat, twin-engine aircraft with variable sweep wings manufactured by Grumman Aerospace Corporation. 1970 Saw the F-14 Tomcat replace the Phantom in the fleet air defense role. The F-14 was given unprecedented long range multiple kill missiles. The Navy first requested use of this variable swept wing jet for Naval carriers. Maximum speed for the F-14 is Mach 2.31. Various armaments including cannons and sidewinder missiles are used on the F-14.

This model represents US Navy VX-4, Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Four. It has the familiar Playboy Bunny symbol on the outboard side of both vertical tails.
