This beautiful journal will become a lasting memory of a baby's first year and will take you right through from recording the first time you feel your baby move to baby's first birthday. It really is a comprehensive book and is roughly divided into two sections - the first for detailed memories of your pregnancy and the second to record baby's milestones during his/her's first year. The book measures 22cm x 16cm, has a recommended retail price of £12.99 and is suitable for both boys and girls. Its cover is a soft pale lemon with delightful illustrations in pale lemons, greens, turquoise and cream. Each pastel coloured page is bordered by co-ordinating drawings and the end-papers are pale lemon. The book is finished off with a pretty pale greeen elastic closure fastening and a double pocket inside the back cover where treasured momentos can be stored.

The pregnancy section begins with pages to record the mother and father's details such as when and where they were born and how they met followed by a useful 3 page (40 week) calender where notes of appointments etc can be made. This is followed by a double page for each week of the pregnancy which includes a brief description of baby's expected development at each stage together with space to record personal details such as 'energy levels', 'measurements', 'appetite and cravings' as well as the 'mood and feelings' of the mother at each stage. There are also plenty of spaces to attach photographs.

The second section contains just about anything a parent would wish to record about baby! It includes some lovely quotes as well as space for photographs, pages for imprints of first footprints and even a page where a small lock of hair can be attached. This section begins with 'Welcome to the World', where questions include how baby's name was chosen, mummy and daddy's thoughts and feelings and details of the baby. This is followed by details of the day baby was born, first visitors, gifts and presents, first night, first bath etc then a double page for each of the first 4 weeks which have further questions on how baby has changed, what they have been doing and how mother is feeling during each week. There are then sections on the nursery, bedtime etc followed by 9 pages of milestone moments and then lots of pages for baby's favourite things, mummy and daddy's favourite things about baby, first holiday, first Christmas and finally 11 pages for baby's first birthday.

This is probably the most detailed baby record book we have seen and because the pregnancy section is included with the baby record journal, everything is together in the same lovely book. It would make a much treasured gift either for a friend or relative or simply to yourself!
