Exemplar aus der 1645 erschienenen, lateinischen Atlasausgabe „Theatrum orbis terrarum, sive novus“.

BESCHREIBUNG
Originale, sehr gut erhaltene, dekorative und kolorierte Kupferstichkarte der Region um Padua.
Umfasst das Gebiet von Bassano, Vicenza und Rovigo, bis nach Venedig - Padua liegt im Zentrum der Karte.
 
Mit großer ornamentaler Titelkartusche  oben mittig, links mit Meilenanzeigerkartusche, darauf Allegorie und darüber Ornament mit geflügeltem Löwen und den Attributen Buch und Schwert. Unten mittig mit großer Widmungskartusche an Dr. Roberto vander Hovve mit aufgesetztem großen Wappenkupfer. In der rechten Kartenhälfte die Lagunenstadt Venedig mit großen Segelschiffen und Kompassrose.

Text in Latein verso mit großer Holzschnitt-Initiale.

Blattgröße: 58 x 49 cm; Plattengröße: 50,5 x 39 cm.

ZUSTAND
In guter Erhaltung. Kräftiger Druck, dekoratives, detailreiches Kolorit im zeitgenössischen Stil. Im Rand minimal braunfleckig. Festes Bütten mit Wasserzeichen.

DESCRIPTION
Original, decorative and colored copper engraving map with the area around Padua.
With the area of Bassano, Vicenza and Rovigo, to Venice - Padua in the center of the map.

Large ornamental title cartouche in the upper center, in the left cartouche with scales of miles and allegory with ornament and lion with wings, book and sword. In the lower center with dedication cartouche for Dr. Roberto vander Hovve with coat-of-arms. In the right half of the map with the lagoons of Venice, large sailing ships and compass rose.

Text in Latin verso with large woodcut initial.

Leaf: 58 x 49 cm; Plate: 50,5 x 39 cm.
 
CONDITION
In good condition. Strong and very decorative print. Very nice colouring in manner of contemporary style. In the margin minimal brownstained. Strong handmade paper with watermark.
