This auction is for a 1950/51 Theatre catalog. These were published annually by the Motion Picture Herald magazine. They were not free, they had to be purchased. They were only offered to people in the theatre business such as theatre owners, managers or equipment dealers. This isn't something that was found on the coffee tables of the average Joe.

I took just under a million photos of this book, so please be patient when waiting for them to download. If you're internet browser is like mine you won't be able to easily scroll past the first few photos until they have all downloaded. Trust me, its worth the wait.

The book is 464 pages. It is filled with 100s of great photos of both indoor and drive in theatres. There are many great shots of marquees and exterior architecture, as well as photos of lobbies, auditoriums, concession areas and even projection booths.

The photos are spectacular, but there are also a lot of really interesting articles and advertisements in here that give you a rare snapshot of what it was like to own and operate a movie theatre in the middle of the last century.

The catalog is quite large, the cover measures 12.5'' x 9.5'' It is in excellent clean condition throughout. I've looked through the entire thing and there isn't one torn page and no signs of staining or soiling. The cover shows very light wear from handling.

Please take a minute to check out my other auctions. Over the next several days I will be listing some very nice movie memorabilia, from the early silent era to the classic 1950s drive-in days.
