This is the very smallest of the old cast iron banks. He is shown in the Moore's book "THE PENNY BANK BOOK" on page 97 top center, #742 and rated C. The paint has worn but that's it! No repairs, not repainted and he stands proud and steady on a shelf. Size 2 1/2" X 3 5/8" and was produced by A.C. Williams in 1934. A.C. Williams made very nice smooth castings and this little guy shows that quality. Remember the old iron is smooooth and the new "crap" is rough! If you don't mind the concrete feel of your cast iron, then go for a new one and save money. But if you want only old then stick to your guns and watch for an old one. An old bank can always be resold, but the new ones are everywhere and will never be worth more. (In most life times anyway!)
