Radio Package

In this package we provide the major components you need for a basic aftermarket radio installation. This package contains the radio, dash mounting kit, wiring harness and/or interface (if applicable), and antenna adapter (if applicable). Optional radio accessories are not included in this package.

When replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket radio this package is a must for a quick and professional looking installation. The components in a Volunteer Audio radio installation package will improve the overall sound quality, functionality, and input source flexibility of your car audio system.

The dash mounting kit allows you to mount the aftermarket radio in your vehicle without modifying any of the factory panels. The process is easy to reverse should you need to reinstall the factory radio. If you decide to sell or trade your vehicle you can reinstall your factory unit (for a higher sale or trade value) and move your better quality aftermarket radio to your new vehicle. Our installation kits are color and texture matched to the OEM vehicle dash panels when applicable.

The industry standard wiring harness eliminates the need for cutting or modifying any of your OEM radio connections, and can be easily reversed for the reinstallation of your factory unit at a later time. This helps maintain the car's value. All standard wiring harnesses are EIA color-matched to the aftermarket stereo wiring harness for easily identifiable connections. We recommend that all connections be made with crimped butt connectors, or by soldering and covering with heat shrink tubing.

The antenna adapter (if applicable) is used to adapt the factory connection to the standard aftermarket antenna connection.

We advise that if you are installing this kit yourself you may need a set of dash removal tools that are designed to remove the dash without scratching or damaging it.

We have information after the vehicle Fitment Area below and in the vehicle Compatibility Area (above --- see the notes column on the left) that will show exclusions and/or exceptions to the stated vehicles.

Simply connect the SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner (SXV200V) to the dedicated port on the rear of the receiver and control and enjoy satellite radio without additional translators or cables. Features like Tune Start, Tune Scan, Replay, and iTunes Tagging will be available on the receiver. The SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner (SXV200V) is sold separately. Also, a subscription to SiriusXM Radio is required. 

ONE-CABLE CONNECTION

The AVH-X1700S features AppRadio One, providing you the ability to view and control compatible iPhone and Android smartphone apps to easily access your digital lifestyle from the receiver's touchscreen using a one-cable connection. Users of iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5 and select Android smartphones can gain access to certain apps using the cables below:

• iPhone users can use the Pioneer CD-IU52 Lightning to USB cable or the Lightning cable that comes with the phone
• Android users can use the Pioneer CD-MU200 USB to micro USB cable or the micro USB cable that comes with the phone

IDATALINK MAESTRO

Keep your factory features and expand your level of in-vehicle connectivity. When your AVH-X1700S receiver is installed into a compatible vehicle using the iDatalink Maestro RR (sold separately), youÕll be able to enjoy the performance and features of the AVH-X1700S receiver plus touchscreen control over key factory audio features. The AVH-X1700S supports factory functions via the iDatalink Maestro RR including: Steering Wheel Controls, Media Player (including the factory AUX-in and USB ports), Hands-Free Telephone, Voice Commands, Satellite Radio, and Secondary Display Support.

AUDIO & VIDEO QUALITY

The AVH-X1700S is loaded with new audio settings to enhance your music listening experience including a 13-band EQ with slope adjustments, time alignment, two-way network, auto EQ, PioneerÕs proprietary Sound Retriever AIR, and high voltage preouts.

Now using component video playback, the video quality of DVD playback is improved.

A BETTER-THAN-EVER LISTENING EXPERIENCE

Great music discovery is effortless and free with Pandora. Just start with the name of one of your favorite artists, songs, genres or composers and Pandora will do the rest. 

With the AVH-X1700S, you can enjoy superior sound quality and full control of the Pandora experience in your car directly from the touchscreen display of the receiver. You are able to give tracks "thumbs up" or "thumbs down," bookmark a song so you can purchase it later, easily switch between your personalized radio stations, and view full track data. 

Pioneer has made it easier to create new Pandora stations while the app is in use with the Pandora Station Creation feature. Both iPhone and select Android users can simply press and hold a button on the receiver to create a new Pandora station dynamically from the currently playing song or artist.

In-dash control for Pandora is compatible with iOS devices. Simply download and launch the free Pandora app to your device and connect it to the AVH-X1700S to take your music to the next level. iOS devices require a wired connection using the CD-IU51 USB interface cable for 30-pin devices (sold separately) or CD-IU52 USB interface cable for Lightning devices (sold separately).

MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a nonstop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. Drawing from PioneerÕs rich DJ heritage and our passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to those in the car. MIXTRAX takes the music from an iPhone, iPod, USB device, or certain Android devices and plays it back with added transitions and effects, creating a virtual DJ inside the Pioneer receiver.

MIXTRAX makes automatic remixing of tracks extra quick and easy. Simply connect your USB compatible device and listen as tracks are joined by various random sound effects in nonstop mix play to keep the groove going in full swing.

MIXTRAX also features club-style illumination that enhances the mood with a dynamic dance club-like lighting effect. As MIXTRAX begins, lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding an extra level of entertainment. USB DIRECT CONTROL FOR iPOD/iPHONE

Pioneer's AVH-X1700S is ready to roll with direct connectivity to your iPod or iPhone for music and video playback via the optional CD-IU51 interface cable for 30-pin devices (sold separately) or CD-IU52 interface cable for Lightning devices (sold separately. Song, artist, time and album information are beautifully displayed on the 6.2" touchscreen. Powerful tools such as Link Search and Alphabet Search help you find content faster. The system's wired USB connection provides direct digital signal transfer from the device for clean, clear sound, while providing 1 amp of current to keep your iPod or iPhone charged.

ANDROID MUSIC SUPPORT

Users of Android devices running operating system 4.0 or later can connect and listen to music stored on their device to the AVH-X1700S without the need for an app. The process is made possible using Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). MTP allows the CD receiver to recognize the Android smartphone as a music storage device. Users can now access music via USB stored on an Android device and operate basic operations like FF, REW, Play, Pause, Random Play, and Repeat. Metadata information such as track, artist, and album name can be displayed.

MIRRORLINK

Expanding on PioneerÕs philosophy to enable consumers stay connected, MirrorLink opens the door to more smartphones that feature MirrorLink technology. MirrorLink gives you a custom interface so you can access your music, map services and your phone to make calls on-the-go, hands-free of course.

NAVIGATION READY

Easily upgrade to navigation with the addition of the AVIC-U260 add-on navigation system. This versatile hideaway unit allows you to switch to navigation mode with the touch of a button. Get to your destination by inputting an address or search through the POI library while enjoying whatever source is currently playing.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR COLORS

Select among five colors (blue/red/amber/green/violet) for the display and 112 different colors to match unit illumination to your vehicle's interior lighting. Also choose from several background images to suit your mood.
