PINION GEAR PRIMER:
Smaller gears offer torque and quick acceleration!! The smallest
pinions are Wheely-Poppers!!
Larger pinions need lots of room to get up to speed. If you have the
room they are the fastest over a long distance.
Two-Wheel-Drive Mini-Truck PINION GEARS:
Pinions generally range from 8T to 18T
The stock gear on the Mini-T, Mini-Desert, Mini-Late-Model and RC18T is
12T
The stock gear on the Mini-BAJA & Mini-SLIDER, with a larger stock
spur gear, is 17T to maintain a similar ratio
8T and 9T are Wheely Poppers
Gears smaller than 12T get moving quickly off the line. They are great
on tracks on tracks with short zones between turns or jumps.
Gears larger than 12T usually need LOTS of room to get going, but then
they are fastest.
Four-Wheel-Drive Mini-Truck PINION GEARS:
These trucks have bigger spur gears, so they use bigger pinions.
Pinions generally range from 20T to 25T
The stock pinion on the Mini-LST & Mini-LST2 is 23T
The stock pinion on the 1/18 Raminator & 1/18 Rammunition is 22T
