Mercedes-Benz (German pronunciation: [mɛʁˈt͡seːdəs ˈbɛnt͡s]) is a German automobile manufacturer, a multinational division of the German manufacturer Daimler AG. The brand is used for luxury automobiles, buses, coaches, and trucks. The headquarters of Mercedes-Benz is in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

The name first appeared in 1926 under Daimler-Benz but traces its origins to Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft's 1901 Mercedes and to Karl Benz's 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen, which is widely regarded as the first automobile. Mercedes-Benz's slogan is "Das Beste oder nichts" (English: "The best or nothing"). Mercedes-Benz is part of the "German Big 3" luxury automakers, along with Audi and BMW, which are the best selling luxury automakers in the world.[1]

History

Karl Benz in Mannheim, Germany. Benz made the 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen, which is widely regarded as the first automobile.

Mercedes-Benz traces its origins to Karl Benz's creation of the first petrol-powered car, the Benz Patent Motorwagen, financed by Bertha Benz[2] and patented in January 1886,[3] and Gottlieb Daimler and engineer Wilhelm Maybach's conversion of a stagecoach by the addition of a petrol engine later that year. The Mercedes automobile was first marketed in 1901 by Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft. The first Mercedes-Benz brand name vehicles were produced in 1926, following the merger of Karl Benz's and Gottlieb Daimler's companies into the Daimler-Benz company.[4][3] Throughout the 1930s, Mercedes-Benz produced the 770 model, a car that was popular during Germany's Nazi period. Adolf Hitler was known to have driven these cars during his time in power, with bulletproof windshields. Most of the surviving models have been sold at auctions to private buyers. One of them is currently on display at the War Museum in Ottawa, Ontario. Mercedes-Benz has introduced many technological and safety innovations that later became common in other vehicles.[5] Mercedes-Benz is one of the best known and established automotive brands in the world, and is also one of the world's oldest automotive brand still in existence today in 2014, having produced the first petrol-powered car.[6]

For information relating to the famous three-pointed star, see under the title Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft including the merger into Daimler-Benz.

Subsidiaries and alliances

As part of the Daimler AG company, the Mercedes-Benz Cars division includes Mercedes-Benz and Smart car production.[7]

Mercedes-AMG

Mercedes-AMG became a majority owned division of Mercedes-Benz in 1999.[8] The company was integrated into DaimlerChrysler in 1999,[9] and became Mercedes-Benz AMG beginning on 1 January 1999.[10]

McLaren Mercedes

Between 2003 and 2009, Mercedes-Benz produced a limited-production sports car with McLaren Cars. The resulting Mclaren Mercedes SLR was an extension of the collaboration in which Mercedes engines are used by the Team McLaren-Mercedes Formula One racing team, which was then part owned by Mercedes. The partnership with McLaren ended following the decision to market McLaren road cars.

Maybach

Daimler's ultra-luxury brand Maybach was under Mercedes-Benz cars division until 2013, when the production stopped due to poor sales volumes.

Quality rankings

Since its inception, Mercedes-Benz had maintained a reputation for its quality and durability. Objective measures looking at passenger vehicles, such as J. D. Power surveys, demonstrated a downturn in reputation in these criteria in the late 1990s and early 2000s. By mid-2005, Mercedes temporarily returned to the industry average for initial quality, a measure of problems after the first 90 days of ownership, according to J. D. Power.[25] In J. D. Power's Initial Quality Study for the first quarter of 2007, Mercedes showed dramatic improvement by climbing from 25th to 5th place and earning several awards for its models.[26] For 2008, Mercedes-Benz's initial quality rating improved by yet another mark, to fourth place.[27] On top of this accolade, it also received the Platinum Plant Quality Award for its Mercedes’ Sindelfingen, Germany assembly plant.[27] J. D. Power's 2011 US Initial Quality and Vehicle Dependability Studies both ranked Mercedes-Benz vehicles above average in build quality and reliability.[28][29] In the 2011 UK J. D. Power Survey, Mercedes cars rated above average.[30] A 2014 iSeeCars.com study for Reuters found Mercedes to have the lowest vehicle recall rate.[31]

Preferred method of payment is Paypal ..

I always get certificate of posting to prove proof of posting

Shipping

I post items daily from the UK .All orders are usually dispatched within 24 hours , but the actual delivery, and time taken to deliver is the responsibility of the Courier, usually the Royal Mail. I do everything there is relating to these items, Except actually deliver myself.

Usually its approx 1 to 3 days for 1st class post, and 2-5 days for 2nd class post, but all post can take up to a week,  or more at peak times like Christmas.

Worldwide shipping is available and its noted the Royal Mail has increased UK and Overseas Post prices considerably. The best way round this is, if you can, is to combine with other items.

We try to make sure that our postage charges are as fair and accurate as possible and we do not make a profit on the postage but there is a small nominal charge for materials like Box, Bubble, Packing,  Brown Paper, fuel to Post Office  etc  ( Normal P+ P ) . This is a normal small charge applied by most sellers, and in our case its lower than most, as we do realise that with the Royal Mails  ever increasing their postal costs, that its a concern for all buyers .

One thing to realise is that recent  Postal changes within the UK, means that all items up to 750 Gramms now cost exactly the same rate.  Therefore ,  4 items at 150 gramms each, goes at exactly the same fee as  1 item at 150 Gramms.

You will receive an email to inform you when the items have been posted.

Returns

We operate a full refund policy if there is a problem with your item.

Also if you purchase an item on a buy now format, most of these are covered under the Distance Selling Regulations, which give consumer buyers the right to cancel the purchase within 7 working days after the day they receive the item. This statement covers my legal obligation  to inform you,  the consumers about your right of cancellation before the purchase.

You must notify us before returning item, and we will not pay for return postage except in the  unlikely event that you have received the wrong product or other reason that is our fault.   The refund will not be given until we have received the items.

Thanks for looking. We hope you've found what you need.

Payment should be made within 10 days please , as after that period, ebay may start sending out automated non payment policy letters,  which could result in you having a strike held against you.

Items will be posted as securely as possible, and marked clearly,

THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK IN BIDDING.
