KEF Q100 is a small speaker that
Uni-Q technology for a natural sound
The
KEF Q100 uses a key KEF technology to great effect: the Uni-Q drive unit. This
positions the treble unit in the throat of the woofer, creating a single point
source for all sound.
The
result is a broader, more cohesive sound that once experienced makes it hard to
go back to conventional speakers. The Q100 improves its treble dispersion with a
'tangerine' wave guide
system,
helping the treble integrate more smoothly with the mid-range.
Aluminium
woofer cone
Made
from aluminium, the woofer unit is fast to respond and linear in its response
giving life-like dynamics and low levels of distortion. Using technologies from
its high-end Concept Blade
speakers,
the Q100 offers attention to detail not usually seen in speakers at this level.
The Z-Flex woofer surround, for example, offers superior cone control, so it
blends seamlessly with the
treble
unit for an even and consistent sound.
Easy
bi-wiring
Like
many of its rivals, the KEF Q100 speakers are bi-wirable. But rather than using
linking bars, the Q100 has simple twist controls that activate internal linking
rods - a clever solution.
Because
of the high quality drive units used, the KEF Q100 only needs minimal crossover
components. A few, high quality, components reduce resistance and therefore
improves the
transparency
of sound.
Ideal
for quality stereo in small rooms or as part of a superior AV system, the KEF
Q100 raises the standard.
