Fabulous large porcelain oil lamp base by Carl Thieme at Potschappel dating from the late 19th century. The body is elaborately moulded with knops and balusters, and with a wrythen finish. Typically decorated with beautifully painted garden flowers and lots of finely detailed gilding. T over X mark to the base and impressed number 1433 and the letter E.

It measures 14" high and 5 1/4" wide. Condition is very good with no damage, chips, cracks, etc. and light surface wear. The burner section appears in good order with the wick turner working smoothly.
