We check all our lenses before they get listed. Exceptions are noted in the description. We believe our customers should not be surprised. We check the cosmetic, optical and mechanical condition. Most of our lenses come with both caps. Here is a list of sample checks we perform before listing a lens:

- check for oil, fungus and mold

- check aperture and zoom controls are working

- clean the lens mount

- note any major scratches or imperfections on the glass

- replace missing caps if available

Customers are responsible for lens compatibility with their cameras. Please check the internet or email us if you are unsure of compatibility. See our Q&A on lenses.

This is a classic mechanic manual focus lens. It will not auto focus on any camera; including the newer DSLR cameras.

ACCEPTABLE: A lens rated as ACCEPTABLE is well used and wear marks are prominent but there are no mechanical issues. Aperture works but there may be some oil. There are dusts/haze/fungus inside the glass and/or coating deterioration. The lens may need internal cleaning before use. This is a great buy for someone looking for parts or a pet project.
