OFFERED FOR SALE TODAY IS THIS RARE ROLEX TUDOR OYSTER STEEL GOLD CIRCA 1947-48 LOVELY ORIGINAL DIALLED WRISTWATCH. THIS WRISTWATCH IS IN ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION FOR ITS AGE WHICH IS VERY UNUSUAL FOR A WATCH OF SOME 70 YEARS OLD.
THE WATCH IS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER HAS BEEN FULLY SERVICED BY MY WATCH MAKER.
DESCRIPTION:
CASE:
The OYSTER case to this Rolex TUDOR Oyster wrist watch is in great condition! There is the normal wear to it for its age but the case is in very good all round condition. even though it is approximately 70 years of age! The Oyster screw down case back operates well and has no cross threading. It only has normal wear scratches and marks. The outside of the case is marked 'STAINLESS STEEL R.W.C' (ROLEX watch Co) The inside of the case back is marked 'TUDOR'. The case back is also numbered 4463 The case measures 3.4 cms (34mm) across EXCLUDING THE SCREW DOWN CROWN.
DIAL:
This is a rare and excellent ROLEX TUDOR Oyster ORIGINAL dial. It is unsigned. The Arabic numerals are excellent. The blued steel hands with lumed inserts are in good condition.The outer 'railway' 5 minute register track is black painted and in good condition. Everything about this dial seems original and it is in good original condition only showing some patina here and there and a small mark just above 9 o'clock. The crystal is a brand new replacement and as such is in minty condition giving a great view of this fantastic ORIGINAL ROLEX TUDOR OYSTER dial.
MOVEMENT:
This is an excellent original manual wind Rolex Tudor Oyster 17 jewel manual wind movement. This movement is FULLY signed on the plates. The movement is in very good working order and has been FULLY SERVICED at great personal cost by my watchmaker. The watch winds smoothly and the screw down crown works exactly as it was designed to do. The watch sets easily. The crown is original, shows a little wear and is signed 'Oyster Patent'.
BAND:
This fantastic Rolex Oyster wristwatch has been fitted with a lovely brand new black genuine leather 18mm band. As it is new and unworn it is in minty condition.
