Pretty little early George V silver inkstand with cut glass inkwell. Navette form with a beaded border to the rim and around the bottom of the walls and set on 4 cabriole, fluted legs with scallop terminals to the feet. The well holder has geometric, pierced detailing around the bottom and a pierced gallery form decoration around the top with the same beaded rim. A pretty cut glass inkwell with silver mount and separate cover to match the set. Hallmarked for Sheffield 1912, maker James Dixon & Sons. The cover, base and holder are fully marked. The mount on the well is not marked but tests for silver so it may be a replacement.

It measures 2 3/4" high, 7" long and 2 3/4" wide. It weighs 208g in total, 132g/4.2ozt minus the well. Condition is excellent with just light surface wear but as I say the inkwell may be a well matched replacement. Worldwide shipping is available, please ask for a cost.
