Here we have a pair of Antonia Campi 1958 Neto Small Scissors.
Measures approx. 7 1/4".
These belonged to a relative who had them in the box in a drawer, The box was taped and wrapped in tissue. I do not know if they were ever actually used. They feel a little stiff.
The box has some wear and tape marks.
I do know that my relative was a big fan of items from MoMa who carried these, I do not know for sure if that was where they were purchased but that is my best guess, and I would guess these were purchased in the 1980's-90's.
Comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home.
The following is information about these scissors and the artist that I found on-line from a gallery, but was for the larger pair.:
ntonia Campi, now in her 90s, is one of the great iconoclasts of Italian design, but also the creator of some of its most emblematic objects. Famous for her idiosyncratic -- nearly baroque -- biomorphic style, Campi was one of the leading designers of ceramics in Italy during the post-war era. This poetic design for steel scissors, called "Neto" (Antonia Campi's own nickname), was introduced in 1958. The design was honored almost immediately. Today, "Neto" is remembered largely from illustrations in books about design. I am happy now to offer one pair of these very beautiful, and comfortable, scissors. They are just waiting to become functional sculpture on your desktop.

Only the large pair is available; it is priced at $700. This pair measures 10 inches in length, and is stamped "Italy".

I try to describe my items as carefully as I can. This auction is considered "AS-IS", No returns.
