~ Danbury Mint 1957 Corvette convertible - RARE 1:24 diecast - Polo White

**NOTE: We are continuing to sell off a recently purchased large (very large) diecast collection of 1:24 scale Danbury & Franklin Mint cars. All the cars we are selling, this week and next, were very well taken care of and kept securely in a locked showcase of an experienced collector. They are in beautiful, undamaged, condition (unless otherwise noted). This auction features the classic 1957 Chevrolet Corvette "roadster" diecast in 1:24 scale. This car was produced in great detail, by the Danbury Mint. It comes in the original box and has all the paperwork shown above.

Visually the 1957 Corvette was a near-twin to 1956. Engine size increased to 283 cu in, fuel injection became optional, and a 4-speed manual transmission was available after April 9. Fuel injection had first seen regular use on a gasoline engine two years prior on the 300SL "Gullwing". The Corvette's engine was advertised as  "One HP per cubic inch", making it one of the first mass-produced engines in history to reach 1 hp/in³. The 1957 Corvettes could be ordered ready-to-race with special options. Fuel injection was in short supply and only 1,040 Corvettes with this option were sold.

American Sports Car comes in beautiful, mint condition in its original box. It is painted in the original factory color -- Polo White, with Silver coves. The car has opening doors, trunk and hood, which covers the responsive 265 hp, 8 cylinder fuel injected V8 engine. Comes with the removable convertible top.

Has highly detailed interior, with readable dash, floor shifter and red bucket seats. Original Box has some light storage/edge wear. This "stylish" Post-War entry is a true showpiece and should make an excellent addition to your vintage "Classic Vette" memorabilia and Danbury Mint collectibles.
