Important antique Victorian high quality grand tour huge Cameo Brooch of

AURORA - Goddess of dawn and day.

It comes in the antique jewel box you can see in the photos.

Aurora is depicted with her bird of prey and beautiful flowers in her hair.

This fine example is most likely to be a "grand tour" souvenir from the mid 19th century.

The Cameo sits in it's original unmarked fine silver filigree frame, with flower decoration.

This Cameo comes from an important private collection of antique jewellery, and is a good example of it's type.

Good classical Cameo subject, Aurora is the opposite of the goddess Nyx ( night.)

The Brooch measures an impressive 3 x 2.5 ins.

Exceptionally fine in every sense.

Visually spectacular.

Good antique condition, some light wear consistent with age.

Some very feint stresses barely worthy of note. Later replacement hook.

The Cameo moves a little within it's mount but is secure enough.

This is a superb high quality example of an early Victorian Cameo Brooch.

Excellent classical Cameo subject.

It would make the finest addition to any collection.
