(Internal #SJ130-6)

This is a GENUINE genuine GREAT WHITE SHARK JAW (Carcharodon carcharias).

This is exactly what you would receive.

Jaw measures 16-3/8" wide x 14-1/2" tall; principal teeth 1-1/4"

The tooth serrations are like steak knives; teeth are snowy white.

Provenance of the catch is hand-written on back of jaw: “Carcharodon carcharias; Collected by Alex Kerstitch, Sea of Cortez”.

Collected by Alexander Kerstitch, a world renowned marine biologist and research associate in ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Arizona.  He died March 23, 2001 in Tucson. He was 60.

An avid scuba diver and researcher, Kerstitch first earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts in commercial design from the UA in 1966.

He co-wrote the book "Reef Fishes of the Sea of Cortez," for which he also produced most of the illustrations and photographs, and wrote "Sea of Cortez Marine Invertebrates." Kerstitch also wrote and illustrated hundreds of articles about marine biology and conservation, principally about the Sea of Cortez.

Wondering why the price of our great white jaws & teeth are higher than other auctions?  Ours are obtained legally from within the U.S. where they resided when the endangered ban went into effect, before the date of 12/31/1998, and we will only ship within the U.S.

1) look at the country the item is in.  If it is outside your country, it is illegal to ship to you.  Fish & Game officials could pay you a visit or confiscate the jaw en route.

2) is it really a great white?  Or just a GREAT, white, shark jaw.  Some are bull shark or oceanic white tip jaws, NOT Carcharodon carcharias.

3) Is it legal? Asian countries do not abide by the International CITES laws.  They often sell poached great white jaws, which have been illegal to catch since it was declared endangered as of 12/31/1998.

4) You may not even get the jaw shown in the photo.  Caveat emptor!  That is not the way we do business.  See below.

A RARE OFFERING, EVEN FOR US!
