Portrait of a Bourbon Aristocrat

French School 18^th Century

An interesting portrait of a Bourbon nobleman of the 17^th century, but probably painted in the 18^th century. He cuts a dash with his suit of armour, long locks of hair and a jaunty bow tied at the neck.

Condition

The canvas has been lined and mounted on a replacement stretcher. There is mild craquelure to the paint surface. A small repair to his front is noticeable under UV light.  Presented in a later frame.
