Our reproduction of the double-breasted officer greatcoat was made out of genuine horsehide, and lined with fine doeskin wool, as a full length greatcoat it reaches to the mid-calf about 7-8 inches above the ankle. This coat was coveted by officers of all service branches and always in short supply.
The coat featured with all the construction details include:
* two rows of 6 buttons, and normally fastened by four buttons with collar open.
* two slanted slash pockets just below the waist with rounded flaps.
* French cuffs on the sleeves (Unlike the doeskin wool greatcoat, the officer’s leather greatcoat’s cuffs have a fake turn up, but are actually close in the usual style.)
*Non-adjustable half-belt with two buttons in the rear of the waist.
*The coat was lined with thick black wool in the body and grey cotton twill in the sleeves,
*2 internal pocket.
* the grey rayon wind-cuff with 1940s’ WUK.6 snaps.
* The officer shoulder straps are the only insignia worn.
