"An excellent introduction to Cab Calloway's music; I recommend it to the casual Calloway fan. This tape is as good as any (and probably better than most) if you want to explore the unique Calloway sound. Every number swings, and some will provoke a laugh or two. Highlights include Calloway's signature song "Minnie The Moocher," as well as a follow-up, "Minnie the Moocher's Wedding Day." Other highlights include "Reefer Man" (one of several Calloway numbers to explore the 1930s and 1940s drug scene), "The Jumpin' Jive," "Beale Street Mama" and a cover of Duke Ellington's "Take The 'A' Train" that does justice to the original.
