Classic US Navy Mark II "KA-BAR" fighting knife by KA-BAR with a hand-made replacement leather scabbard. KA-BAR one one of the main government contractors manufacturing MK2's for the US Navy for the duration of the war. Classic American WW-2 era fighting knife; this type was used in combat by the US Army and the Navy men alike in all theaters of the war.
The knife is 12-1/8" / 30.8 cm overall with 7" / 17.8 cm blade. This combat knife has obvious signs of field use; most of the original parkerized finish is gone with only about 10% remaining on the blade. The blade is re-sharpened but very lightly; no typical nicks or dings on the edge. The guard is marked USN MK2 on one side, KA-BAR on the other. Stacked leather handle; all washers are tight with no play whatsoever. Round steel hammer-like pommel is tight with no movement whatsoever; handguard has a bit of a play. Leather scabbard is a later hand-made replacement; the leather is soft and supple.
Classic WW-2 era Mark II fighting knife in very good overall condition; has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way; these are the actual photos. Buyers must be over 18 years of age. Will ship via USPS Priority Mail with sign-for delivery confirmation within 24 hrs of cleared payment.
